Η Κύπρος πολτοποιημένη, μπροστά στην πιο μεγάλη ευκαιρία;
Το ένα από τα στοιχήματα με τα οποία συνδέει την Κύπρο η τελευταία έκδοση του Economist είναι φυσικά το γκάζι. Τα κοιτάσματα φυσικού αερίου (ΦΑ) της ανατολικής Μεσογείου αναδεικνύονται στη σημαντικότερη παράμετρο της γεωπολιτικής εξίσωσης της περιοχής μας.
Τις ίδιες μέρες που συνέβαινε η ολική πολτοποίηση της Κυπριακής οικονομίας, συνέβαιναν και άλλα, σημαντικότατα γεγονότα στην περιοχή, με πρωταγωνιστή την πιο ισχυρή χώρα της γειτονιάς, την Τουρκία. Οι πρωτοβουλίες για το Κουρδικό είναι μεν σχετικές με την Κύπρο, αλλά πιο σημαντική είναι η απροσδόκητη για πολλούς εξομάλυνση των σχέσεων με το Ισραήλ. Όλοι οι σχολιαστές βλέπουν πως η κίνηση αυτή έχει ως φόντο το ΦΑ, μια σημαντική ενεργειακή πηγή, που έχει σε πλεόνασμα το Ισραήλ. Και που αναζητεί η Τουρκία για να κινεί την ισχυρή της οικονομία.
Το άλλο στοίχημα αφορά, ναι, καλά μαντέψατε: το Κυπριακό! Το «μεγάλο άλλοθι» που για δεκαετίες ήταν η μόνιμη και συστηματική άμυνα σε οποιεσδήποτε προσπάθειες εκσυγχρονισμού και αλλαγών στην Κυπριακή κοινωνία και οικονομία, φαίνεται να επανέρχεται με ενδιαφέρον τρόπο. Δεν ήταν πάντα δικός μας ο «έλεγχος» και η ευθύνη στη διαιώνιση του προβλήματος. Για πολλά χρόνια οι Τούρκοι θεωρούσαν το Κυπριακό λυμένο, με τα επί του εδάφους δεδομένα που δημιουργήθηκαν το καλοκαίρι του 1974. Είχαμε όμως και ευκαιρίες, και τις κάψαμε εμείς, θεωρώντας πως είναι πιο βολική και εύκολη η επιμονή στο μαξιμαλισμό και το «δίκιο», σε βάρος του ρεαλισμού και της προοπτικής. Η Τουρκική αδιαλλαξία ήταν πάντα η σωστή απάντηση ανεξάρτητα από την ερώτηση.
Το Κυπριακό λοιπόν επανέρχεται, όχι επειδή το γράφει ο Economist, και άλλα έντυπα, αλλά γιατί υπάρχουν μηνύματα και από την ίδια την Τουρκία. Ο κ. Νταβούτογλου απείλησε μεν με δυο κράτη, *αν αποτύχουν* όμως οι άλλες δυο επιλογές: ολοκλήρωση της διαδικασίας συνομιλιών, μέσω του ΟΗΕ, ή προσωρινή και επί τούτου συνεργασία των δυο κοινοτήτων για την αξιοποίηση του ΦΑ.
Η ενστικτώδης αντίδραση της πλευράς μας, περιλαμβανομένου και του κ. Αβραμόπουλου, ήταν η επικέντρωση και αντίδραση στην απειλή, και αδυναμία να διαβάσουμε – πολιτικά αλλά και κυριολεκτικά – τις άλλες δυο επιλογές.
Κρίνω τις δηλώσεις του κ. Νταβούτογλου ως τις πλέον σημαντικές από τον καιρό που ο πρωθυπουργός Ερντογάν εγκατέλειψε το δόγμα του ότι «το κυπριακό λύθηκε το 1974». Ο πρόεδρος Αναστασιάδης είναι έξυπνος άνθρωπος, και όταν καταφέρει να ξεπεράσει αυτή την απίστευτη φουρτούνα με την οικονομία, θα πρέπει να στρέψει την προσοχή του και στο αγαπημένο μας πρόβλημα.
Αν μπορούσαμε να ζητήσουμε από ένα εξωγήινο χωρίς γνώση της πολιτικής, να δώσει από εκεί πάνω εισηγήσεις για την διαχείριση του γκαζιού στην περιοχή μας θα είναι νομίζω απόλυτος: συνεργασία με Ισραήλ, κατασκευή αγωγού για μεταφορά μέσω Τουρκίας, και συνεπώς κίνητρο για στενή συνεργασία μεταξύ των τριών αυτών χωρών
Μια συνεργασία που θα συνδυάσει τη μετά τη λύση Κύπρο της ΕΕ, τη δυναμική του Ισραήλ και την τεράστια οικονομία της Τουρκίας θα έχει πολλαπλάσιο όφελος για όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους. Ένα όφελος που θα κάνει την παρούσα βαθιά κρίση μια μακρινή κακιά ανάμνηση.
Όπως έλεγε και εκείνο το σλόγκαν της Τράπεζας Κύπρου: «Σκέψου το, γίνεται.»
Τι ξεκινά από κάτω, και πάει προς τα πάνω;

Dear Mister Prime Minister:
On behalf of all of the people of Israel, I would like to apologize to you as well, but for the behavior of the Prime Minister of Israel. As you know, just last weekend Benjamin Netanyahu sent you an “apology” for Israel having defended itself against the genocidal terrorists who attacked Israeli soldiers who were armed only with paintguns when they boarded the terrorist “flotilla” ship that you sent out to challenge Israel’s naval blockade of the Hamas enclave in Gaza.
Netanyahu spoke only for himself when he apologized to you for Israel’s defending itself and its people, this two generations after the Holocaust. He does not represent almost anyone at all in the country when it comes to this “apology.” No one except for some anti-Israel radical leftists with tenure at the universities agrees that Israel owes you an apology for defending its people.
Actually, on behalf of the majority of my fellow Israelis, I would like to apologize for the fact that Israeli did not just torpedo and sink the terrorist ships trying to break the blockade and bring in aid to the Hamas Nazis. I would like to apologize for the fact that Israel has a Prime Minister who is divorced enough from the reality of Jewish history and could consider buying a few moments of diplomatic calm with a Moslem aggressor by shaming his entire country with an “apology” to Turkey, and all this just hours before the Jewish holiday of national liberation, Passover.

Beyond that, I really do think that Israel owes an apology for not having done much more to draw the world’s attention to the illegal occupation and destruction by Turkey of the jewel of Cyprus, the city of Famagusta. Israel sat by while Turkey conquered 40% of Cyprus and transferred tens of thousands of its own people as illegal settlers to the island. And for that I apologize.
And since you have spent so much time in recent years denouncing Israel as an occupier, I think Israel owes an apology to the world for not helping to end the illegal Turkish occupation of the great ancient Greek capital of Constantinople, now under an illegal Saracen occupation that has continued for far too long. It is high time that Constantinople be returned to its true heritage and its legal owners, the Greek people. It is less than a hundred years since the city, along with Smyrna and other Greek homelands, was almost liberated by the Greeks, who were only to be blocked by the Turkish military aggressors, the mass murderers of the Armenians.
So Mister Prime Minister, as you see, I am afraid that Israelis owe the world several apologies.

Not only did Isael’s prime minister “apologize” for Israel using force against the genocidal Islamofascist terrorists who attacked Israeli troops, not only did he apologize for using armed force to protect the people of Israel, Netanyahu also agreed to pay reparations to the Turkish families of terrorists killed in the ship deck fighting when the flotilla ship was boarded. The terrorists there attacked the IDF troops who boarded the ship. The Turkish terrorists were killed while attempting to murder Israeli soldiers. That is the basis for Netanyahu offering to pay reparations!
Maybe Bibi will next offer to pay the Palestinian Arabs compensation for the damages to the Qassam rockets that they shoot into Israel when these are shot down by the Iron Dome!
However, Bibi’s problem is that he needs the Minister of Finance to sign any checks for any reparations payments to the Turkish families of the dead terrorists. So I want to suggest, dear reader, that you drop a line to Yair Lapid, the still-untested, proud ZIonist with a sense of Jewish self-respect. Urge him to refuse to make any reparations payments to the families of the terrorists.

Crisis offers opportunity to heal Cyprus division

«I was born in 1951 in this walled city,» says Semari Asik, «and I’ve lived here all my life.»
We are driving through northern Nicosia in a classic open-topped car, just a few metres from the Green Line, which separates the internationally recognised Republic of Cyprus from the self-styled Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which is only recognised by Turkey.
Residents of northern Cyprus have had to deal with international isolation for decades, but they are now monitoring the financial and banking crisis in the Republic of Cyprus extremely closely.
Mr Asik, a classic car enthusiast, says he feels the pain of his neighbours on the other side of the Green Line.
«I have sympathy for them. I feel it because we have been going through economic crises many times in the north,» he says.
But like many other Turkish Cypriots, Mr Asik now wonders whether the crisis in the Republic of Cyprus could – in time – produce an opportunity to end the division of the island.
«The Greek Cypriots may want a solution more than they used to,» he argues, as we navigate through the narrow lanes.
«If both sides suffer the same crisis, then they can sit around a table and solve this problem more easily.»
‘Realistic’
The stalemate in Cyprus has been frozen in place since 1974, when a Greece-backed coup prompted a Turkish military intervention in the north of the island.
Many people were displaced from their homes during the bloodshed.
The TRNC now has a growing tourism sector, and it attracts thousands of foreign students to its higher education system. But it remains totally dependent on financial support from the Turkish mainland to survive.
So the prospect of banks in northern Cyprus gaining business, while the financial system in the Republic of Cyprus is in disarray, is a tempting one.
At the office of Ersin Tatar, the finance minister of the breakaway Turkish Cypriot state, they talk up a banking system that has certainly had its problems in the past but looks like a safer bet at the moment.
«Anyone who wants to open a bank account can come here, as long as they abide by international rules and regulations,» Mr Tatar says.
He is particularly keen to attract some of the tens of thousands of British citizens who have money in banks in the Republic of Cyprus.
«We don’t want any dirty money,» he asserts, «but we have a good banking system supported by Turkey, and we have a good life.»
Like almost every Turkish Cypriot you meet, he insists that he has many Greek Cypriot friends. But he cannot resist a dig at the authorities on the other side of the divide.
«They should be more realistic,» he says. «Overconfidence and being unfair to others eventually comes back to knock on your door.»
Seeking recognition
On the island’s northern coast, the wind is whipping up the waves just outside the harbour walls in Kyrenia, known to the Turks as Girne.
Pleasure boats are rocking gently on their moorings as tourists eat at the cafes and locals soak up the spring sunshine.
«If we had any money we would lend it to [the Greek Cypriots],» says Sabri Abit with a wry smile.
«Of course, you know no-one lends us any money, because we don’t exist.»
It is a reminder that, despite their current difficulties, Greek Cypriots still have one thing the Turkish Cypriots do not – international recognition.
«If there could be a solution in this country,» argues Mr Abit’s friend, Musa Aksoy, «we could all live in peace and in wealth.»
Just before Cyprus joined the European Union in 2004, the United Nations devised a plan to reunite the island, forming a new federation of two states.
Turkish Cypriots approved the Annan Plan, but it was rejected by a large majority of Greek Cypriots.
«As long as we’re divided,» Mr Aksoy says ruefully, «we will continue to have economic trouble.»
Equalising factor
Now, though, the view from many in northern Cyprus is that the crisis in the Republic of Cyprus could be an equalising factor.
They point out that the new Cypriot President, Nicos Anastasiades, was one of the few Greek Cypriot politicians to campaign in favour of the Annan Plan.
And if a majority on both sides think reconciliation would make them all better off then maybe – just maybe – one of Europe’s last dividing lines would finally disappear.
There have been plenty of false dawns in Cyprus before, and there will be furious resistance to change.
Mr Anastasiades, in particular, will have limited room for manoeuvre, given the political pressures of the bailout agreement.
But these are strange times and, in one way or another, Cyprus is entering a new era.

Όλα μπορούν να συζητηθούν όταν και εφόσον υπάρξει λύση στο Κυπριακό. Χωρίς λύση δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει καμία απολύτως συμφωνία ή και συνομιλία με τον κατακτητή. έχω όμως την αίσθηση ότι ΔΕΝ έγινε εξομάλυνση σχέσεων Τουρκίας Ισραήλ. όλα έγιναν για τους τύπους.Σύντομα θα φανεί.

Το κακό είναι ότι δυστυχώς τόσο οι Τούρκοι όσο και οι Αμερικανοί γνωρίζουν άριστα ότι τολμούν να κάνουν αυτά τα πράγματα επειδή ο προ μηνός εκλεγείς Πρόεδρος της Κύπρου Νίκος Αναστασιάδης, ανενδοίαστος ένθερμος υποστηρικτής του σχεδίου Ανάν το 2004, δεν έχει ουσιαστικά καμιά αντίρρηση στην υλοποίηση παρόμοιων σχεδίων. Αντιθέτως, ενδεχομένως να αδημονεί να πάρει εκδίκηση από τους Κύπριους ψηφοφόρους για το συντριπτικό «Οχι» του 2004 στο σχέδιο Ανάν, το οποίο τον είχε εκμηδενίσει πολιτικά για οκτώ χρόνια. Ο Νταβούτογλου πάντως στηρίζει πολλά σε αυτόν: «Η εκλογή Αναστασιάδη αναπτέρωσε τις ελπίδες!», δήλωσε χωρίς περιστροφές στην ίδια συνέντευξη που πρότεινε τη διχοτόμηση της Κύπρου.

Με απλά λόγια, οι ευρωπαίοι «σωτήρες» θα πάρουν το πετρέλαιο από την Κύπρο μέσα από το «προσφερόμενο» μνημόνιο και οι Κύπριοι θα εξαναγκαστούν να πληρώσουν και από πάνω… Αυτό είναι ευρωπαϊκή αλληλεγγύη όχι αστεία, πρώτα σε σκοτώνουμε, μετά εσύ πληρώνεις τα έξοδα κηδείας άλλα εντάξει τον τρόπο που θα πεθάνεις και τον τάφο τον διαλέγουμε εμείς.
Βέβαια, την ίδια στιγμή έχει ξεχαστεί πως η φορολογία στις καταθέσεις μπήκε για να… σωθεί η Κύπρος!
Προβλέπεται πως μέσα από το αντίγραφο του Ελληνικού Μνημονίου που επιθυμούν να επιβάλουν στην Κύπρο, σύντομα η Κύπρος θα είναι φορολογική κόλαση χειρότερη από την Δανία και την Ολλανδία.
Φυσικά, δεν υπάρχει καμία απολύτως πρόβλεψη για την περίπτωση που το ΑΕΠ της Κύπρου πέσει πάνω από ένα ποσοστό (π.χ. ξεπεράσει το -5%) για να υπάρξει αναβολή των υποχρεώσεων. Κάτι που προβλέφτηκε μόνο στην Ισλανδία, γιατί οι Ισλανδοί οικονομολόγοι – πρώην ψαράδες φαίνεται ότι ξέρουν καλύτερα από τα αστέρια της ευρώπης…
Το Κυπριακό Μνημόνιο
Το κείμενο του μνημονίου που έχει συνομολογηθεί ανάμεσα στην κυπριακή κυβέρνηση και την τρόικα και το οποίο αναμένεται να υπογραφεί εντός της εβδομάδας, πιθανότατα την ερχόμενη Τετάρτη, αποκαλύπτει σήμερα ο «Φιλελεύθερος» της Κύπρου.

Συγκεκριμένα, μεταξύ άλλων στο μνημόνιο περιλαμβάνονται: δημιουργία ειδικού ταμείου στο οποίο θα κατευθύνονται τα έσοδα από την εκμετάλλευση των κοιτασμάτων φυσικού αερίου, μείωση δημοσίων υπαλλήλων κατά 5.000 έως το 2016, αύξηση ΦΠΑ, αύξηση φόρων στις καταθέσεις και φόρων στις επιχειρήσεις, περιλαμβάνει το μνημόνιο για την Κύπρο….
Κυπριακό «ΤΑΙΠΕΔ» για το αέριο
Το μνημόνιο της Κύπρου στο κομμάτι της ενέργειας περιλαμβάνει τη δημιουργία ειδικού ταμείου στο οποίο θα κατευθύνονται και θα αξιοποιούνται όλα τα δημόσια έσοδα από την εκμετάλλευση των κοιτασμάτων φυσικού αερίου….

Στοχογραμμικα φαινεται να το Μνημονιο Κυπρου να ειναι ενα «copy/paste» του Ελλαδικου.
Γιατι η Ελλαδα δεν διαθετει πλυντηρια. Τα πλενουμε «στο χερι ή στο ποδι» ή τα στελνουμε «εξω»… στο 5asec.

Άρα, η δική σου αναφορά είναι απλώς κακόβουλη διαστρέβλωση:
«….Τα δύο αυτά κράτη στη συνέχεια μπορούν να συναντηθούν μέσα στην ΕΕ!», δήλωσε μεταξύ άλλων ο Αχμέτ Νταβούτογλου.»
Και συνεχίζεις τις κακόπιστες βλακείες:

Για τα λοιπά, τι να πω; Ο μακαρίτης ο παπάς μου έλεγε πως δεν πρέπει ποτέ να δανείζεσαι περισσότερα από όσα μπορείς να πληρώσεις. Έλεγε ακόμα πως όσα και να χρωστάς, πρέπει να πληρώνεις.
Ο δικός σου πατέρας έλεγε προφανώς άλλα.

ΑΝ ειχα ποτέ δανειστή, το χαρτι θα εφερε την ΔΙΚΙΑ ΜΟΥ υπογραφη, και απανω σε αυτο θα υποθηκευα ΔΙΚΙΑ ΜΟΥ περιουσια.
ΑΝ αδυνατουσα να αποπληρωσω, θα επρεπε ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΙ να ΕΠΟΜΙΣΘΩ ΤΙΣ ΕΥΘΥΝΕΣ ΤΩΝ ΔΙΚΩΝ ΜΟΥ ΠΡΑΞΕΩΝ.
Η διαδικασια αυτη ΔΕΝ ΕΠΙΡΕΑΖΕΙ κανενα συμπολιτη μου, παρα μονον την οικογενεια μου.
Οταν ΥΠΟΓΡΑΦΩ την ΚΑΤΑΔΙΚΗ του ΕΘΝΟΥΣ ΜΟΥ… παραπλανοντας και αποπλανοντας… κανοντας να πληρωσουν γενεες επι γεννεων, ΕΝΩ ΕΓΩ ΠΛΟΥΤΙΖΩ και ΠΡΟΣΤΑΤΕΥΟΜΑΙ απο τους ΕΝΤΟΛΟΔΟΧΟΥΣ… ειναι κοματι ΔΙΑΦΟΡΕΤΙΚΟ !!
BTW… επι προσωπικου… ο πατερας μου και η μανα μου με δασκαλεψαν καλα.
Ποτε δεν χρεώθηκα…
Εργαζομαι και προσαρμοζω ΛΙΤΑ τις «ΑΝΑΓΚΕΣ ΜΟΥ», οντας της «παλαιας σχολης».

Παιδιά οι κομμουνιστές καταλαβαίνω να θέλουν να φύγουμε απο το ευρώ και την Ευρώπη αφού δεν έχουν καμία σχέση ούτε θα έχουν ποτέ. Αυτοί επιθυμούν ένα πρότυπο βόρειας Κορέας. Είναι κάποιους άλλους που δεν καταλαβαίνω να επιμένουν με ένα φανατισμό να φύγουμε τώρα απο το ευρώ. Και να πάμε που; Προς το παρόν δεν έχουμε επιλογή, wrong timing. Σπασμωδικες κινήσεις που βασικά κρίνοντας απο τις τελευταίες πάντα αυτοπυροβολουμαστε στο πόδι.
